The following questions and answers are intended to give you more information about the specifics of being classified as a professional client of GBE brokers.

Account opening

What are the requirements to register an account?

The following steps are required to open an account with GBE brokers:

Registration: First, register with GBE brokers and confirm your email address.

Questionnaire in the Customer Portal: Next, complete the questionnaire in the customer portal. This is required for regulatory reasons, among others.

Upload Documents: Then, upload the necessary verification documents:

  • Proof of identity (e.g., a color copy of your passport or national identity card)
  • Proof of residence (e.g., a utility bill or bank statement)

After your information and documents have been reviewed, your customer account will be verified. You can then deposit funds. Once the deposited amount has been credited to your trading account, you can begin trading.

Can I trade without providing my documents?

No, trading with a live account is not possible without previously verified documents.

You must upload the following documents via the customer portal after you have fully answered the questionnaire:

  • Proof of identity (e.g., a color copy of your passport or national identity card)
  • Proof of residence (e.g., a utility bill or bank statement)

Without your documents, you can only open a demo account.

My documentation was rejected. Why?

The following points may be reasons for the rejection of your documents:

  • Your identification document is no longer valid.
  • Your identification document is not fully visible or the resolution is too low.
  • The proof of address must not be older than six months.*
  • Screenshots are not accepted.
  • Your address must be identical on both documents.

* Only the specified documents are accepted as proof of address (gas, water, or electricity bills, internet or landline bills, bank statement, credit card statement, registration certificate, letter from the tax office).

I’m not receiving a verification SMS on my phone for the demo account.

You will receive the verification link for your account by email. Please confirm your account by clicking the link contained in that email.

Which documents are required if I have a second citizenship?

To open a live account, we generally require a valid identification document and proof of address. If you hold a second citizenship, we require both valid identification documents.

Can I open a joint account with another person?

Yes, you can open a joint account with one other person, provided that both of you live in the same household.

Can I open an account together with my partner?

Yes, you can open a joint account with one other person, provided that both of you live in the same household.

Can I get an ECN account with GBE brokers?

Yes, at GBE brokers you generally trade in an ECN/STP-like trading environment, where orders are routed directly to liquidity providers or the interbank market (Direct Market Access). This allows traders to benefit from fast execution and spreads starting from around 0.0 pips, depending on the account type.

Can I, as a private individual, also have access to an API?

An API connection (FIX API) is generally available at GBE brokers. However, it is primarily intended for institutional clients or professional market participants through the GBE Prime service.

How do I change my name?

To change your name, please submit a copy of your passport or national identity card and proof of your new address. Please send the required documents by email to your contact person or to [email protected].

How do I change my address?

To change your address, please send current proof of address directly to your contact person or to [email protected].

What is the deposit protection amount?

The objective of the ICF is to safeguard the requirements of clients against its members by paying compensation (up to EUR 20,000 or 90% of the covered investor’s claim, whichever is lower), for demands arising from covered services provided by its members in the cases that the member is unable to fulfill its obligations.

A separate insurance policy has been purchased from Lloyds for GBE brokers’ clients. This provides additional protection to clients who qualify under the Investor Compensation Fund for amounts in excess of EUR 20,000 up to a maximum of EUR 300,000 per client.

Where can I find information about the inactivity fee?

If a client has not executed any buy or sell transactions within the last three calendar months, the company charges an inactivity fee of EUR 20 per month. The inactivity fees are charged quarterly. The inactivity fee does not apply to accounts with a balance above the account maintenance threshold of EUR 500.

For how long my demo account is valid?

Your demo account is valid indefinitely when actively used. If you do not actively use the demo account for 30 days, it will be automatically deactivated.
